Learn the absolute essential Charleston basics in this 3.5 hours of intensive fun. This workshop follows the format of our popular beginner’s intensive and Balboa intensive programs. If you’ve always wanted to learn the Charleston, this is the perfect class to get started.
Charleston Intensive Lesson
The Charleston Intensive class is a 3.5 hour crash course that covers 20’s Charleston, 30’s Charleston and the transitions between your Lindy Hop and Charleston.
This intense Charleston crash course is geared toward those with some Swing dance experience (Lindy Hop, etc.), but have never danced Charleston before. Limited to 6 leaders and 6 followers.

Tokyu Toyoko Line, Toritsu-Daigaku Station, 7 min. Exit the station, turn left and walk along the main street. Go straight across the large intersection and continue for a few more minutes. The Meguro Citizen’s Campus is on the left.

Lesson FAQ for First-Timers
- Pre-registration required.
- No partner needed. No previous dance experience needed.
- Wear loose and comfortable clothing.
- We recommend dance shoes, or shoes with heels for followers.
- You may wish to bring a workout towel and change of clothes.
- You’ll be able to change in the restrooms.
- The practice rooms are on the B1 level. There is a small sign to the right of the reception desk. Our lessons are under “iSwingTokyo.”
